I had a XC70 which the previous owner had P*'d, had Aviva multicar and there was not change in premium when I told them.

However I've just found Aviva very awkward and uncompetitive at renewal time so I've got separate policies for my cars now and saved £300.

You should tell them it is "software optimisation" (which is what Volvo describes it as) rather than a performance tune. Strictly speaking, it is a factory optional extra (but retro fitted by the dealer like towbars)

I'm in my second year with Aviva and bought a Polestar car just at the end of year one. The premium difference between a 2011 V70 T6 and a 2014 XC70 T6 Polestar was a lot less than I expected - almost trivial. And it renewed ok a couple or three weeks later.

Also had a Polestar about three years ago with another insurer.

In both cases they told me it was not counted as a modification as it was factory fitted (and, really, if it is fitted post-manufacture it should make no difference) and from what the premiums were I do not think Polestar attracted any significant uplift at all.

Aviva's reaction to the OP is mystifying.

Just had a quote to cover Polestar Opt. from LV.
£1.85 for the remaining 6 months on my policy.
