Volvo 245 wheel help please!!!!
There are some American hotrod style wheels I’m possibly about to buy which has a pcd of 5x4.75 now I can either get these wheels re drilled to 5x108 or adapters which is fine however my question is the wheels are 8x14 so I assume that means 8inches wide it states it has a 4inch back space what I want to know will this foul any suspension or brake calipers? If so how wide would I need the adapters to be e.g. 25mm the would that also foul the arches? If anyone on wheels are experts that can help would greatly appreciate it, my Volvo is a 1978 245 estate. Thanks again

https://www.willtheyfit.com/ The wheels you have at the moment are probably 5.5Jx14 ET25, which means the rims are 5.5" wide, 14" diameter and have an offset of 25mm. Once you know the offset of the new wheels just pump the numbers into the calculator and will work out the inside and outside clearance for you. Remember this will be without spacers - you would have to add the width of any spacers from the new wheels' offset. There are a few other things to check, like the bore size (needs to be 65.1mm), the clearance to the brake callipers and pipes, you might just need to offer up the wheels front and back to check. Simple enough? PS. Notwithstanding the above: don't do it, the wheels will ruin your 1978 motor car. Find some nice Volvo 15" alloy wheels (from a 240/740/940), they will look good with 195/65R15 tyres, will fit the PCD, won't cause any clearance issues and your VWW will handle and steer well.
