Members Discounts Update

I would like to encourage any tuners or garages to support the performance section and reply to me if they are willing to give VOC members a discount. All members need to get a discount is provide evidence of their current membership. This list was updated 9th February 2005.

1) Power Engineering in Uxbridge will give members a discount of 10% off their hourly rate when going in for a service at their specialist performance workshop, this means that the normal hourly rate of £54 + VAT is reduced to £48.60 + VAT. www.powerengineering.co.uk 01895 255699

2) Superchip (who are based in Uxbridge) are willing to support us by giving members a discounted £411 including VAT for their chip upgrade and £464 including VAT with a dyno run as well. Dave Guilford can be reached on 01895 811338.

3) Don Norchi of The Kalmar Union www.kalmar-union.com is continuing to offer a very competitive price of £351 including VAT for T5 and R pre-1999 MTE software upgrades and £511 including VAT for post-1998 upgrades. ECUs can be sent to Don by post or he can arrange to travel to customers homes to instal software by arrangement depending on where in the UK the car is based. 4) Volvo Specialists ACC UK (01252 370 701 www.accukltd.co.uk) of Units 1-2, Arrow Industrial Estate, Eelmore Road,Farnborough GU14 7QH provide expert servicing and performance upgrades (see website).ACC give a ten percent discount to VOC members on their hourly servicing rate of £35 per hour plus VAT.

5)PFS Parts Ltd www.partsforvolvosonline.com would like to offer 10% off all Front WP Pro front Big brake Conversion kits: http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...479_480&products_id=282. All members need to do is quote their VOC membership number when placing the order.

6)I have negotiated a members' discount of 10% at Little Knocks in Harefield, near Uxbridge. The company do an excellent job in repairing scrapes and bumps at a very competitive price. They have excellent facilities situated in a very scenic part of Harefield just by the Grand Union Canal. There is an excellent pub with a garden a short walk away where you can go for a pub lunch whilst you are waiting for your repair. 7) I have negotiated a discount of 10% for members at Just Tyres, 2 Wellington Road, Uxbridge.Their telephone number is 01895 255 021. I suggest that if you have a local Just Tyres you mention the discount that the Uxbridge branch is giving and see if they will do the same

8) SW Autos garage/mot and accessory shop is offering a 850/V70/S70 302 front brake upgrade kit which includes the caliper carriers, 302 front discs OEM/Zimmerman/Nordic and Lucas police spec pads for £275 including VAT.

*Brand new (not reconditioned) 19T Turbos (TD04HL-19T) for £558.16 including VAT as an exchange. These turbos are fitted with a 360 degree bearing.

10) RT Mechanics http://www.rtmechanics.co.uk/are offering VOC members 10% discount on parts and servicing. To get the discount members need to show their current VOC membership card.

There are a variety of companies offering discounts to VOC members, please see members' discounts on the main part of the website.

Don't forget that members get discounts at Volvo dealerships on parts and service - just show your membership to participating dealers.

I feel that it is both in our interests and in the businesses' interests to offer preferential rates to members. We do have purchase power as a group having over five thousand VOC members. It would be useful to get discounts in a National context - let me know!

I was just looking at the LittleKnocks site and see that they now have a place in Wokingham. Has anyone used that branch and is the quality as good as people say their Harefield branch does? And, does the 10% discount apply to them too?

I've got some alloys, a couple of dents and my wife's car just got scratched by a van so I might try for a bulk discount anyway
