Flaky Bluetooth Internet Connection
Hello,
You may have seen my other post, 'Bluetooth, WIFI or SIM'. I'm currently going down the Bluetooth route (although I'm thinking of purchasing a SIM soon) and connection appears to be flaky, sometimes it will connect (just slower than connection for phone/messages) other times it won't connect at all. This morning it didn't connect although all looked fine with phone and car options selected, I tried deselecting and selecting the tether by Bluetooth in the car/phone but no change so when I got to work I locked the car and got back in hey presto it connected! Does anyone have a similar flaky issue? I presume it's just SW related just interested if anyone has any work around they use? |

Yes, it's hopeless. Just go for the SIM card and it'll be one less thing to be concerned about.

What phone are you using? Does it have the latest version of the operating system installed? :wq

I have a Samsung it's on Android 7.0 Nougat, I might buy a cheap SIM from Giff Gaff and compare the difference.

My bluetooth tethering from my iPhone is rock solid as well, and connects automatically every time.
I still have the disconnect/reconnect issue while actually using the phone for calls though. I believe this is an isolated iPhone issue, which can be fixed by simply deactivating the wifi on the phone (in the settings, not just in the control center). |

get yourself one of the 3 sims that are free and come with 200mb of data (free) every month. Thats typicall more than sufficent for most people's usage. You might have to activate the sim in a mobile before putting it in the car.

I use both Bluetooth tethering from my mobile and also a 12GB 12 month 3 data sim. When I'm getting close to exhausting my 02 2GB per month inclusive limit on my mobile I switch over to the car sim.
My experience is that the data sim in the car is more stable than the phone tethering.

When up and running via sim card and using Spotify as an example, it's a much more stable connection whereas via the phone it continually buffers and loses connection.

There is a patch out apparently so maybe they've rolled that into the general update they do - I hope so.
