As much as I love 480s, I've grown rather attatched to my gentleman's vegetables over the years.

Best of luck with the sale though.
I shall stop trying to lead you into serious trouble then - I know exactly what you mean and there are priorities in life!!

I have to admit black was the best colour, with the odd hints of red on it.

My cousin had a black one with red stripe round it, J-reg I think - at the time I really liked it but now I look back and think the looks of the black 480 really improved when that strip was made black as well...

I had a 480es that had about 15 owners!
Never ran properly, but a lovely car!
I knew nothing about them( 16 years ago), lost confidence in it, sold it for......£120 without MOT......
Wish I didn't regret my ignorance.

As in just sitting about in your garden? Like some people have gnomes or other ornaments? Or were they put out there to graze on retirement?

Would be interesting to see the state of it now

A 480 for sale in Glasgow is a novelty !

Two points not to be offensive but when it comes to spares you can turn into cash within a short time period £300 is optimistic I should know God knows how many 480s I have recycled to keep 480 forum members on the road . I have a shed load of spares that will ultimately have to be dumped some of the parts have lain there for 5 to 6 years. Over the years I probably just about broke even. I know some people who charge daft prices for spare parts but I dont. No one ever comes to my house and leaves without freebees.
The demand for spare parts for 480s is quite quiet just now . I couldnt even swop the engine over as I have the early 1992 MY which has a different subframe and engine mounts. Enough to make you weep.

The current scrap value of a 480 in Glasgow is about £120 ( best price is from Stewarts )

if you havent already scrapped it but are going to get in touch with me ( I am on the 480 site every day) oh and put it up for sale on the 480 club europe site as well (its free).

regards jim
