S40 1.6 Petrol Cambelt fitting.
I am having a new Cambelt put in my S40 1.6 petrol 2008. I was hoping to collect it today but the mechanic said that he put it all together and it wasn't timing right , he said it wasn't going all the way round ? He said you can't check them so he will need take it all apart and refit it .
I am not a mechanic so could easily be told nonsense ... does this sound possible ? Could it do damage ? Thanks. |

After fitting a new cambelt, you normally turn the engine by hand to make sure the timing is still correct. If it won't turn a complete revolution, it is likely the timing has got out of sync. It won't have done any damage assuming it hasn't been started.
