Default Melbus....or not melbus???

Thinking of installing an iMiv on a 2004 V70, 2.4 SE with an HU 850 head unit as (a) the disc changer is broken & (b)the dealer I bought from will be paying for it....or to have the unit repaired which seems to be a 299 fixed price. There is no satnav/car kit

One simple question - How do I tell if my vehicle is melbus equipped?

i would get it repaired myself at central services in Ipswich , see marcel on here , They are volvo audio experts since the 1970's and do a great job at a reasonable price .

Thanks - I have sent them an email. Whether to go for iMiv or Hu 850 repair very much depends on cost.

Well....Roughly 3x the cost to repair a 6 disk changer (approx 300 quid) versus about 100 for the iMiv......not sure I can see the point in paying 3x the cost to repair a unit that is so obviously fragile.

The only reason to repair it is so that I could say it works if that makes sense - the iMiv would seem to offer much better functionality for the money as I am already an iPod/iPhone user.
