Talking Hello / My iMIV

Hi everyone!

I recently acquired a lovely 06 V70 D5, it was previously my dads so I've known the car from new and am very much in love...despite a ribbing from my mates about having a Volvo estate :P

Have been lurking around the forum for a while and thought today would be a good time to say hello as I have made my first addition, a nice iMIV iPod interface. Install went without a hitch thanks to the wealth of knowledge on here I'm very pleased with the results:

Only a few little niggles on the car now, like the passenger mirror not adjusting up and down and the wipers being a bit random about where they park! Any advice would be gratefully received!

So basically hi, aren't Volvos awesome?!?

Yeah, service was very fast, ordered Friday and it arrived Monday! Most difficult part was taking the plug out the back of the radio haha

Lol - I had a play today with a din plug to 3.5 jack in the back of the HU603 to Ipod - never worked! Just said cd error and gained a SRS warning for not dissconecting the battery when unpluging the climate control unit!

Yeah I made sure to disconnect the battery and reconnect it with ignition in position II. I got a dice/VIDA unit off ebay anyway so theoretically I would have been ok...but didn't feel like risking it!

Hi,

The HU 850 on my 2004 V70 is knackered......as I have just bought from a dealer, who assured me that everything worked (I mean...who takes a CD with them on a test drive!) he has agreed to pay for repair and TBH I'd be quite happy with an iMIV as the CD changer seems to be a known problem.

So.....how much? How easy to install? Is this the only supported interface that works with the radio display, steering wheel controls etc?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your dodgy radio

I bought the device direct from here: http://www.imiv.ca/cms/ Dont forget you will get a separate VAT invoice as it comes through customs though...

I've heard of other interfaces, but this seemed the best to me in being able to display artist/track names on the display.

The install was very easy, disconnect battery, pull off gearknob surround, couple of bolts and the whole radio/climate panel came out. Then just inserting two plugs and threading the wires into the glovebox

All other features of the radio (6 CD changer) still work, this device appears as a Satellite radio in the input list.

hi ive just taken delivery of an imiv classic front fit for my hu850 2006 v70 (£198.88) -am i right in assuming that if i dont disconnect climate control panel i can leave battery connected?
also to get tracks /artist on hu you have to download files into itunes then on to ipod then onto imiv?

cheers

Thanks - I'll be ordering one but reckon I can live with the "lite"/LE version http://www.imiv.ca/cms/products/prod...epped-package/ as I don't think I need the other inputs - it seems to have the same functionality but without DVD/reversing camera/aux inputs.

On another thread I was told that all phase 2 V70s are melbus prepped - can anyone confirm that?
