Default Squealing Tailgate lifter

I have a 2009 XC60 with an automated tailgate. It is working perfectly but is squealing when lifting. Any suggestions?

This is most likely a known problem. For me a similar problem was fixed under warranty. Basically, the dealer lubricated the actuator with some sort of gunge.

Mine was terrible about a year after it was new, I dug out a pot of grease out of the shed and not heard a peep since.
