Default Saved £640 on insurance quote today... :

Well, had the renewal from Elephant, with all mods declared it was £986 with nine years protected NCB, clean licence, living central london hot postcode.. etc......wasnt that happy so ringing around again

Norwich Union - £890
Admiral - £900
Bell - £893
Aquote - £836
RAC - £911
Morethan - £882
Greenlight (Modified car Specialists) - £340

http://www.greenlightinsurance.com/

Full european cover £250 excess, hire car etc, breakdown... now thats a bargain and same T&C as elephant....

Apparently they only deal with mod cars, kits etc and believe anyone who mods their cars will look after them, also they provide full track day cover.

Also all mods are replaced on a like for like basis....

Very happy...

Adrian

Damn good find. Thumbs up to you for the info.
Maybe this can be added to some VOC page for future reference?
Or persuade them to advertise on the VOC perhaps..

Is removing the centre console cup holders considered a modification?!

If not, then it's worth painting a "go faster" stripe down the side for those kind of savings!

Hi. Thanks for the post addyman. I didn't have any mods, but I found your quote interesting.

I have been a named driver since I was 18 due to quotes in the region of £1200 for my own TPFT policy from all the mainstream insurers. After passing the age of 25, I called up for quotes and OMG the quotes are still £1100-1200 - made me growl GRRRRR Some insurers quoted a little less, online insurers that will remain nameless (because I forget) went as far as the £1400 mark GAH!

Adrian Flux didn't really help although I always hear good things about them. I have no no-claims bonus. Living in London doesn't give insurers/brokers carte-blanche to rip me off. So I gave Chris Knotts a ring. They were very polite and helpful. They listened to what I had to say and considered I had done a lot of driving as a named driver and on my company car. I told them I wanted a quote more like addyman's. The same day they got back to me with a quote of £400! Yes that's right, about a third of what some of the mainstream insurers wanted. Take that Churchill I had conditions though - I have to park it on the driveway overnight - else the premium would have been £700.

Anyway I recommend Chris Knotts as a polite and friendly brokerage with good rates, well they were for me So shop around and if you don't ask you don't get!
