  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.

Default revs high at start up..

i went to pick up my new to me 1994 volvo 850 and when we started it it reved way up and i shut her down.first off the car has been sitting for about 2 months and has been pretty cold here in connecticut so i thought i would ask the pros before i started monkeying around .its a 2.4 fi non turbo..thanks in advance

The 850's and V70's do rev up on initial startup, but not too high. What rpm did you get before switching off?

when under the hood this afternoon i was checking to see if something was hanging up and what i found was it was sticking at the throttle return ,very rusty from sitting and hanging up just enough to keep the idle from returning ..
