I didnt fill it with bricks, just pulled out the springs. Got a little more done. The off side rear arch, inner arch, rear quarter and boot floor had holes everywhere. I cut out all the rot and put a new inner wheel well in. Had to chop the door shut area out of the donor car as the original was in bad shape.
Had to contend with all the bodged repairs along the way as well. At some point the car has had a hard shunt up the rear. The rear quarter has been replaced and the seat back area still has a kink in it, whilst melting out all the lead to find good metal to weld to, I collected it in a hub cap. Now I have a nice cast lead volvo embelem to stick on the wall, anyway heres some pics.

Default Well good use of an old Volvo

Hi,
You guys that do these projects always amaze me!! the skill to do the cutting and shutting to get things to look right must be a very difficult thing to do!!
I honestly think these projects are a good use for an old Volvo, other wise without an MOT they are not even fit for the government scheme!!, and i just dont agree with scrapping things!! complete waste of a resource

Hope all goes well with the other addition to youe family too, see why your doing a four door now!!

Hi All,

got the new Rolls and pleats magazine today, and it made me wandering how this project is doing? It is still in my 'favorites' list in Internet Explorer.

Keep up the good work.

Well its been a while. I think it was 3.5" out of b post cant really remember. Well Ive got round to fitting new inner wings, cut out the trans tunnel and baulkhead to make way for a rv8 and type 9 ford box. Frenched headlights made front all one peice. Got some templates made to cut side glass. Decked the tailgate and smoothed door handles. going to try and get one side prepped by end of july. Heres a couple of pics of how it looks. Cheers Matt

Yeah, looks fantastic. Glad you didnt change the grill to a one piece. I have seen some changed to a one piece grill and I think it just makes it look a bit ordinary. Those quarter lights must have been a pain to do!!
