Question Electronic Dipstick

After only 800 miles my oil level reading is showing Full on the Electronic Gauge, with an accompanying message Engine oil level service required.Have any other owners had this problem, as I suspect it is the sensor at fault. I have already had the engine oil temperature sensor replaced 2 weeks ago.The engine performance is perfectly normal so far.
I would appreciate any comments.

I dont know how many miles you have done since adjusting the level but it can take 20 miles to stabilise it works on the ultrasonic principle ...

The level has always been high as far as I remember, but it was not asking me to go for an Oil level service. I have read some horror stories of Diesel fuel getting into the sump, and I'm getting paranoid Ha Ha

There are some other, older threads on the site about this issue. I think the consensus view was that it was more to do with not letting the sensor have enough time to make a proper reading than diesel contamination.

Thanks for the advice, I have had a trawl through the earlier threads. I am going into the dealership tomorrow morning to check the service message out, and also they have brought the Quality assurance check forward.

I went into the dealer on Friday as my oil level reading was showing full, and the message "engine oil level service required" They drained some oil out but could not get the message to clear. Booked it in again today for diagnostic checks. They collected and delivered the car back to my house. The driver said that my car had had a software upgrade. This has now at least removed the message, and the dip is reading full on my drive.

Down the front of the engine (really low ) there is a Dip stick ,my oil level did not line up with the dash level,if you are a "contorsionist"PULL THE DIPSTICK OUT CAREFULLY,When engine has been standing overnight ,check the level there and then no need to wipe stick and check again.
