Default Volvo 142 Clutch Cable - To Good Home

I have a clutch cable for a 1969 RHD Volvo 142. It is brand new although been stored since 1980. 1206206-3 is the part number. I vaguely recall my 142 was an import from Cyprus and had the weird situation where, although RHD, the clutch connector was on left hand side of engine block. Hence the cable snaked right round the front of the engine block and back. Therefore it was long and therefore it had a habit of snapping (hence the spare I was left with). But those more in the know can correct me here. So, if anyone is interested this is free to a good home. Prefer it was collected. I live in Reading UK and am on arbibriggs@aol.com. Photo can be provided.

Interesting routing! That on my 142 didn't do that - but it was a rare UK car from new. Have you still got your car, as there aint many left? I presume it would fit all 140-series cars (memory bad on that....)?

Hi, no I don't have the car. Bought it in 1975 second hand for £600. It had 80,000 miles on the clock. When I got rid of it in 1980 it had 135,000 but it had to have an engine rebuild at about 110,000. Picked up its replacement, a 1974 144, the day John Lennon was shot. Remember it well.

Further to routing, in hindsight I am inclined to think it may have been some strange conversion of a LHD vehicle for the Cyprus market (they drive on the left like us). But that wouldn't explain the readily available clutch cables in Volvo dealers here in the UK. Believe me, I went through them probably once a year. Could change one in ten minutes eventually.
