Think I messed something up...
I tackled the front wishbones and drop links on my 2.4 petrol V70 yesterday. They needed doing as the bushings were destroyed. However, on driving home I now have a bad vibration that starts at around 60mph and gets worse through 70-75. I'm about to have my wheel balance checked to rule that out, but as this just started after replacing parts, I'm inclined to think I may have caused this. I'm thinking CVs to start, as I had the wheel hubs turned in a lot of different directions to get the wishbones lined up. Any other suggestions?

It's an alignment/tracking check you need initially.
Your old wheel alignment was based on worn bushes so fresh ones can easily throw things out.

make sure you put the front bushes in the right way round, ie the wide edge of the bevelled pin away from the subframe.

Check the inner CV joint on the offside driveshaft. It likes to pop apart if over extended. Had one car that had those symptoms after the garage that I bought it from ‘repaired’ a fault. Ended up sorting it myself as they where incompetent!

Hi all, thanks for the advice. The bushings are the right way around. I will check the offside inner CV today if I get time. Tracking was done this weekend with no obvious effect.

Update: got the car on a lift today and nothing seemed out of place. Later, I finally got around to replacing the right rear tyre that I've been putting off and voila! Vibration is gone. I've felt vibrations from bad tires before but never anything like this. Oh well, chock it up to something learned for next time.

It might be as well to get a 4 wheel alignment check based on everything that's been done.
