Default Copper Spray for head reassembly?

I've seen some Youtube videos where copper spray has been used on the head/block mating surfaces - is this a standard procedure for the D5 185 Euro4 engine?

certainly not ! the lacquer on the gasket must be able to bond to a perfectly clean head and block ! What is the reason for a "copper spray" ?

Used it with good effect, but that was on a bike which has a solid copper head gasket.

Can’t see why you’d use it on a car?

Cool Head gaskets.

Evening Reggit, Do you and others still anneal solid copper head gaskets on bikes? Must admit I am a bit out of touch with the bikes, but still much prefer the smell of Castrol 'R' to to muck spreading! Still got my ACU pudding basin just in case!

Regards,Keith.
