I'm sat here with a friend who is a master tech - we've not had time to read everything but from what he's seen on the thread he's suggesting:
1. Low pressure tank pump pressure - could be low needs to be checked - you may hear it run but that's no guarantee it's producing enough pressure. 2. High pressure side - check pressure. if low most likely to be a. Pressure regulator mechanism failed. b. Pump itself failed c. Pump has become disconnected from the camshaft - have seen this before - the drive between the camshaft and pump shears but fools everyone cos the belt is still intact and the gear goes round but the pump inside ain't turning ! Sorry we haven't done these tests on a D5 so can't say how to do them - would have thought VIDA had a sensors in the system it could read to give you the values but not sure. hope it helps Jools |

Thank you
After reading your comment I think its all to consider of course. But the D5 has the Hp pump on the back gearbox side. Isa not belt driven (I guess is not) My idea was to dc the In pipe to the HP pump and see if there is fuel getting in. I know the pump is doing its job (with the right pressure or not...I don't know) like tested its priming the filter. Now I need to check the engine side. When I over take the car I felt something blowing felt not ear....where? in the front, don't know where exactly. I really don't know exactly how to troubleshoot all this... If anyone can tell me where is the line in to the HP pump it would be awesome pls (i think its the pipe with the red circle on the photo) Last edited by Anubisxc70; Jan 29th, 2021 at 23:24. |

Remove the air inlet pipe from the turbo
And from the lnlet of the engine Check that is all ok and not full of oil And the turbo is ok. As if it is full of oil that would stop it from running. Dave |

There is no oils on those parts.
But even so even if the turbo was gone , wouldn't the car be able to start? |

Not if it is full of oil so no air can get in

If its full of oil what could cause that? A blown turbo?
Wouldn't that make a lot of white smoke but the car would still run? |

Yes a bad turbo,
it may not run if full of oil, as it needs air to breath like us, But I would put a pressure gauge in line with the in tank pump, as just seeing fuel with the filter off does not tell much as there is no pressure, Dave |

That's great
There will always be some oil in the intake because of the breather system Have tested the fuel pressure? Good luck. Dave |
