He's no longer developing corded appliances so you'll be forced into either renewing the inevitably expensive batteries or the whole appliance.

Incredibly reliable (as I've found) mains powered vacuum cleaners were obviously not wearing out and needing renewing anywhere near enough for them I guess.

Is yours a wet dpf?
If it has a bottle underneath that needs topping up every service then it's a wet dpf and the idea of the eloys fluid is that it keeps the system clean so the shorter runs should not be as big a problem as they can be with a dry dpf which relays on getting hot to keep it clean.

Either way your regular longer runs should sort out any problems. It's recommended half an hour at over 50 mph once a month should be sufficient to stop any problems.
I don't have any problems with my D5 but do very little short runs in it having an euro 3 landrover on the drive which does not care about how long it runs for. With the use I give mine I belive I've only witnessed 1 regeneration in it in the 40k miles I've owned it.
