Southern BKV 2018
Sunday 20th May 2018 . Please Note you need to bring your own refreshments. as there is none on site
The 2018 Southern Rally & BKV will return to the popular venue of the Attwell - Wilson Motor Museum, 36 Stockley Lane, Calne Wiltshire SN110LJ. Please Note. If you have been a member of the VOC for at least 6 months you can take advantage of the Volvo Affinity scheme when buying a new car. Entry to site from 1000 hours. There are caravan and camping facilities available at £TBC per caravan per night and £ TBC per tent per night Electric hook up is available at £ TBC per 24 hours or part thereof. Water also available. Please let Nigel Ayling know if you wish to stay overnight. Entry to the site is £7.00 per person, Children under 16 years are free. This gives admission to the museum and funds its running. The club will probably subsidise some of this fee for club members. At first sight the museum does look a little small but is in fact a comprehensive and interesting collection.* VOC members wishing to enter their car into the Best Kept Volvo competition should collect an entry form from the club official at the entrance to the site. You must produce a current VOC membership card to be eligible to enter. If you are not a club member but wish to join today the fee is £35.00. (£30 annual membership plus £5 joining fee) You will then be eligible to enter the competition. Please see a club official to join. A condition of entry of vehicles for judging is that it MUST be road legal and have been driven to the event to qualify. Please leave the completed entry form on the dash board. The judges will need to access the boot and under bonnet in order to conduct the judging so please leave the car open. You are responsible for the security of your property so please do not leave valuables in your car. The latest time to enter you car for judging is 1300 hours. If you arrive after that time you will not receive an entry form. If for some reason by 1500 hours you find that your car still has its judging form in it and it appears you car has not to have been judged PLEASE contact a club official and let them know and we will arrange for it to be judged. It is anticipated that the raffle draw will take place around 1530 hours followed by the presentation of the awards. There is a small cafe onsite which mainly serves drinks and sandwiches.* Whilst there is plenty of display area the nature of the VOC may require us displaying over two adjacent fields. It will be dependant on attendance on the day. However the line up of cars will be informal, as has been the case over the last two years. There will be the usual raffle and this years nominated charity is Macmillan nurses so please give generously. Volunteers sought for judging. please contact Nigel Ayling Please attend this event if you can and make it even better than last years. I will update as more information becomes available. I had to slip away before the end of the event and prize giving but would just like to say thank you to the unsung organisers for putting on this event. Great location, interesting little museum, weather and mix of vehicles.
Thank you. |

Many thanks for your comments greatly appreciated.its is satisfying when people enjoy the day. Just a little bit of a shame that numbers were down on previous years.
