D2 drive e issues since purchase
Hi
Newbie on forum so apologies for daft questions ... Just bought a 2012 V50 drive e 115 bhp, drives well but pretty sure a front wheel bearing using its way out.. Also I seem to have a missfire on light load at approx 1700 rpm - injector problem ?? I also get a ' reduced engine performance ' warning flashing up now and again , it seems to be triggered when going round a roundabout , as if there is a fluid level issue causing it ?? Are these common issues and sortable without major expense ? Appreciate all opinions / thoughts .. Stuart |

I have the same engine so will help where I can. Wheel bearing is straight forward change. Either the whole hub and bearing or just the bearing. If you have the tools and expertise you could do it. A dealer could provide a full hub and bearing as they quoted me that when my front one had gone. Nearly £300 though. The other option is to push the old bearing out with a press and push a new one in, that'll cost half as much, but you'll need a big press machine. I got this done at a garage for £150, £100 bearing and £50 fitting. Your other 2 faults I would advise you get a Vida readout. That's the Volvo diagnostic program for fault code reading, fault fixing, parts catalogue etc. Not all fault code readers are created equal when it comes to Volvo's.

V50 fault codes
Thanks for that, car booked into AA approved local garage which is a Ford specialist for years - hopefully their familiarity with engine will help as I have an AA warranty ..

Drive e probs
Turns out it was diagnosed as tge turbo boost position senser , a new turbo vacuum control solenoid was fitted.
I havent driven the car yet as i had to leave for overseas work, wife seems to think its fine tho, maybe the odd 'miss' but def better , it used to noticably miss at same revs as the gearchange indicator came on - coincidence ??? Will keep an eye on it, wonder if AAwarranty will honour the claim !! Cheers |
