Our Gracie had a full bare metal respray and all new metal put in where needed ( see Gracie resto ) and obviously lots of new parts . The cost was a lot lot more than we anticipated but we now have an as new amazon slightly modified to our own taste (leather interior amongst other things) . We use her on a regular basis in all weathers as we wanted her to be as good as we could have (like new) . The guys who did the resto are a little surprised at exactly how we use her but we now know she should last us 20 years plus and then should still be going strong . She is not our everyday car but at least twice a week she is out sometimes with the dogs in the back etc . We have had a car port built to give her some protection but other than that we beleive cars are to be used and enjoyed . We found with our last classic that low mileage and being garaged is fine if you only use them once or twice a year but not when you want to use them everyday , they get expensive repairing parts that are not used to being used .

I'll second that sentiment
.........other than that we believe cars are to be used and enjoyed.
Absolutely, Gillberry it's great to see the Cars out on the road, rather than being hidden away. Like you, my Amazon sits under the Car-port and takes me to work two or three times a week (it makes for a much more interesting commute). ___________ Message for Graham Brown / 'Space Cpmposites'..... Good luck with trying to sell your car fella. Perhaps you're going to create a new TREND....... selling your car for top $ (or even higher) without even letting people see what it's like!!!! |

It is now late in the evening of the 15th Oct, and the O/P is that unconcerned about whether he sells his car or not that he has not been logged in since he posted his thread (last online 8th October)!
