Mine's the same. I'm sure I'll get around to it. I'm also sure a well-aimed squirt of ACF-50 (lots better than WD40) will fix it

Mine also sticks in open position. Sometimes wd40 helps but leave some grease marks when pouring from handle. Need to strip the door card and have a look on that one.

Same here! Started a couple of weeks ago - driver's door handle on a 2009 V70 2.0D SE. Will give it a bit of WD at the weekend and see how it goes...

Put some WD and worked couple of days. After that back to sticking.

They want £35.00 plus vat to fix this..........Is this right? Or if it is that common, surely it must be free as its a design fault(Despite handles & hinges being exempt from the warranty)
Anyone had any luck withVolvo fixing this for free? Or any other result,

This should be fixed under the select warranty, mine has. Also had a clutch release spring or something along those lines replaced, as clutch got stuck down once, rear tailgate was a bit squeaky, that was sorted and the car had really bad tramlining that was also fixed with a 4 wheel, laser alignment and two new Pirelli zero on the front, ( its the R Design model) all done at Doves volvo at Gatwick under select warranty.
In my opinion, if the car is under warranty and there is anything not quite right then let a dealer look at it, as once the warranty runs out you just know that these things will fail and cost you a fortune to fix, one of the reasons to buy at a dealer, the cars cost enough to buy and run as it is so if someone will pay to fix anything all the better, it's what the warranty is there for. Besides which at least you get the car cleaned inside and out.

Are you by any chance suffering from a water leak at the bottom of the windscreen with subsequent sound of sloshing of water from behind dashboard. With all the cold weather recently I'd forgotten about this problem but now we're above freezing its back again!
I've had this problem on a 2007 P3 V70 ... the water gets in at the top of the screen (they had bonding/primer issues at the factory), you can check if you gently push the screen from the inside with the door open, you will probably see it move. Once water gets in, it runs behind the dashboard and under the carpets (which I had to take out- passenger and back section- check by removing side trim and putting your hand underneath into the underlay), mine were sodden, took days of squeezing out of the car and a dehumidifier to dry out, sadly. Water also tracks through 2 places under the screen, where the arc welding was missed at the factory, allowing water into a bulkhead area behind the dash, that doesn't have drains. This fills up and sloshes when cornering!

I've found a Volvo Service Bulletin (on here) which says the seam (hidden back under the base of the screen- can be seen once the wipers and plastic scuttle is off) needs a bead of sealant on each side to seal, plus the wheels off and wheel-arch liners taking out on the front, then a 6mm hole drilling each side up into the bulkhead box-section, to allow the water to drain out. I had Volvo drill the holes just yesterday (18th Jan 2023), the water drained out onto the workshop floor, no more sloshing when I drove away, and had a new screen fitted by National Windscreens for just the £95 excess, it didn't have to be cracked. Volvo (Truro- Cornwall,UK) knew about this as an issue, had the service bulletin fix on their system...

All fixed now, just need to fully dry the car and carpets and done!
