Default Door handle sticking

The exterior drivers doors handle on my 2010MY V70 has started to stick in the "out" position when I pull it to open the door. Doesn't seem to be temperature dependant so I don't think its ice. anyone know if this is a common issue? Is it okay to simply give it a squirt of WD40 or similar or as it is under warranty and due its 12500 service in about a month should I wait for that and let them sort it?

SNAP!

Same problem on my 2010MY V70 also coming up to its first service.

Are you by any chance suffering from a water leak at the bottom of the windscreen with subsequent sound of sloshing of water from behind dashboard. With all the cold weather recently I'd forgotten about this problem but now we're above freezing its back again!

Ditto ,my drivers door handle sticks out when opened, shut's with a bang when the door is closed.
Mine is in for a n/s rear door lock ( won't unlock when interior handle is pulled twice), front n/side replaced 2 wks ago for same fault.
Will mention the door handle and report back.

Happening to me as well on my 58 s80. The drivers door handle some times stays out.

I've also got the sound of water behind the dash sloshing around. Does anyone know how serios this is - gettig no misting up at all though.

Think this maybe also happening to me where the drivers door handle doesn't feel as fluid as it should.

Feels like it gets stuck but never does.
My cars in for its 3,000 mile courtesy check so it will be added as a item for them to check

Had my 12,500 service at MRG yesterday. The handle sticking was described as a known issue and a mod is available to fix it. They have done the mod and hopefully all will be fine now.

There is a mod for this it and we are finding it happening alot it requires taking the handle out, rubbing down and greasing the mating surfaces and it should be ok then, this job takes no longer than 5-10 minutes a side.

Default V70 2009 driver door handle sticking

Just read some of the articles on this. I've had my car for 7 months with Select, now the driver side door handle keeps getting stuck in the open position. When I took it into Volvo for them to look at, the bloke I saw said that they had a couple in with this problem.........seems that it is prevalent! They want £35.00 plus vat to fix this..........Is this right? Or if it is that common, surely it must be free as its a design fault(Despite handles & hinges being exempt from the warranty)
Anyone had any luck withVolvo fixing this for free? Or any other result,
Cheers, Martyn from Norwich

Mine did do this but a good dose of WD40 seems to have cured it (2009 V70
2.4D)
