360 turbo
Hi guys been VOC member for 5 years now, I like to share my findings with the club, just had a successful year in my home grown 360 turbo, got a 760 2.3 B230ET engine in, which I have fitted, gas flowed head, VMX adjustable cam (from usa £195, superchiped motronic ecu(from finland £95) fitted S60 T5 injectors (from finland £160 and fitted water injection (from usa £175) because of water injection I could up the pressure from 7.5psi to 13psi, after rolling road tune it was 305bhp on the flywheel, done many miles on circuit and running gear seems to be holding up, so dont believe them about tranmissions and rear axles being weak. I've uprated brakes to BMW 325 discs, escort front springs, and powerflex bushes, anyone interested in more info, email me on kgstrong@btopenworld.com, got loads of photos, video. had an article in circuit driver, because people find it very hard to see a 360 pass subarus, porches and even had a ferrari at Goodwood last week.

RE: 360 turbo
right on!!!!!!!
do you dump the clutch much on race tracks cos between the guys who had our 360 rally car and me and my bro we've broken the direct top s/c box, drive shafts(now cosworth modified) and a 4.6/1 diff blew toth clean off on otterburn ranges holing axle casing. this is beginning to pee us off as you can imagine cos its only b19 on 45,s. when it was dynoed on inj had 137 at wheels so prob more on gobblers but should it be destroying the drivetrain like this????? send us some info pics if u get a chance cheers graeme sockeye10@hotmail.com |

RE: 360 turbo
i think if you had 305 at the flywheel the transmission is going to be broken at some point , its the the same as a 5 speed m47 which will break at 250 ft lbs torque in a 7/9 series , you could find uprated driveshafts .
it may be that your original gearbox could have been worn before you started , uprated internals are available from quaife , but that is expensive . I would like to know how you got 305 hp with just a VX cam and 13 psi , that doesnt equal 300 hp , even with a chipped ecu . the std motronic will easily go to 11 psi with one of my boost controllers . how do you control the boost on yours ? . i appreciate you may not want to answer publicly so you can email if you so wish . Who ported the head and did you go to big valves , i have a head being modified that uses pinto valves and springs with a reground cam that can be done to any spec for about £800 fully inclusive .

RE: 360 turbo
Hi guys, its not just vx cam, I gasflowed the head myself, I also has water injection fitted, bigger intercooler, and s60 injectors which doubles the flow under boost, the ecu has been chipped to suit the injectors, my cluch and gearbox has been ok so far, but then I do rolling starts.

RE: 360 turbo
Awesome! - may have done as much (or a bit more) than you in the front brake department - but I am salivating at the thought of a 760 turbo lump under the bonnet! (I have e-mailed a longer scribe to your btopenworld address - e-mail me if you didn't get this one / you have a different e-mail address now (March 2003)).
