2004 XC90 Black D5 Auto - Fully loaded spec
Our beloved 163bhp XC90 will probably be for sale in the next 2-3 months due to a new job with compulsory company car (my old job had a car allowance instead with which I bought and ran the XC90).
She has almost full spec and has been a superbly faithful and solid performer. The service history is second to none I have all the stamps at all recommended service intervals from either volvo garages or a volvo specialist recommended by the VOC. I also have all paperwork and receipts for the work done at each service and for any interim work done - nothing is left out. Mileage is 185,000 and still going strong, mechanically sound and an excellent driver. We have only used for long journeys as my work is home based so no commuting or stop start journeys. MPG return on the display is currently over 37mpg. Very recent service included a new cambelt and tensioners. I also performed the gibbons method gearbox oil change last year which has made the auto box feel like new. Spec includes all the usuals plus; black leather heated seats Electric seats with 3 memory positions Electric sunroof, fully functioning and no leaks, drainage pipes have been cleaned and cleared 6 CD changer in dash MD player in dash Sat Nav in dash (rises out of top) Audio system on rear seat pillars (headphone jack and source selector etc) Roof mounted DVD player and drop down screen (see notes at bottom) Electric Retracting wing mirrors Plus anything else you can probably think of on an XC90. Tyres are good, MOT passes are a breeze even the handbrake works well as I use it often. Car has never towed - I did fit a towbar last year (and have the dated receipt for proof) but this is only for a 3-bike carrier, nothing else. In full disclosure I will now list the niggles; The common AWD spline has failed. It only happened recently but has made no difference in the way the car drives, infact it seems to have improved MPG. I have only had one instance of wheelspin in a wet field when camping but if you dont plan to offroad or drive in snow I would say its no issue. To fix I believe is around £400 - see elsewhere on the forum for more info. The DVD player often goes fuzzy on the screen so I think it needs replacing, I have tried cleaning it. The DVD unit itself is a standard DIN mount and you can get them for about £100. The screen is a separate unit and appears to be ok. The screen for the radio is sometimes very very dim, I have read all the horror stories about these being prone to faults on the XC90 and causing all sorts of other problems with the electrical system, however with my hand on my heart I can say the unit functions perfectly, nothing else is affected, all works faultlessly, its just that sometimes in the daytime you cant read the screen. It has been like this since I bought it and has not made any difference to the operation of the vehicle or the sound system. Any questions please ask, car is located in South Leicestershire and you are welcome to come and visit, inspect, drive it, I am happy to accomodate any enquirys. She has been an absolutely superb family vehicle and we will be very sad to see her go. Open to sensible £ offers. Last edited by phaedrus; Aug 8th, 2015 at 08:51. |

And the inbuilt car phone!
Also forgot to mention (remembered today while taking photos) there is a slight mark and slight mis-alignment of the panel on the front left corner where I had a slow speed and annoying bump in a car park. I have taken photos of this and a comparison with the other perfect corner which I can send out. It doesnt notice unless looking closely. |

Just a quick and shameless bump to say the car is now ready to go. Ebay classified ad will be going up soon.
