Look forward to you opinion on these. I'm giving up on the Goodyear Wranglers next change due to noise. In all other respects they are fine. They were fine on the Discovery but the Volvo is so quiet the drone from the tread pattern is annoying.

Goodyear Wrangler All Weather for me, feels like I am stuck to the road with glue although has made steering slightly heavier. No issue though as I now glide through country lanes with ease.

Hi,
I have finally narrowed down my new tyre purchase of 235 60 18 to either the Michelin Cross Climate SUV ( as I can’t find the Cross Climate + in my size yet) or the Continental All Season Contact. But my question is this. My 2014 xc60 se lux nav geartronic Came with 103 V rated tyres from factory from what I can work out and the new Continentals or Michelin’s have a 107V or 107W rating. So does the increase in Load rating ( from 103 - 107) mean I’m going to have a harder ride? I would be interested to see what load rating people are running on either the Michelin’s Cross Climates or the Continental’s All Season Contact. Many thanks Giles |

No, youll be fine.
Its very uncommon to detect the very slight differences as there is pretty much no difference, and this is why Michelin have slimmed down the range, they now simply produce the higher rating for a size. Also, your tyre pressures remain the same, some people may claim you need higher pressures when you dont, for the same weight its the same pressure, but the tyres can take more weight & pressure than the lower rating. If I need to I can source the necessary info to substatiate this, should any 'pub experts' come along |

AndyV7o - thank you ever so much for taking the time to clarify that for me. With that conundrum sorted now I just need to decide which tyres to go for. I’m leaning towards the Michelin Cross Climate SUV as I see a lot of people on here say they are nice and quiet as well as being an all rounder.

The Michelin are indistinguishable amongst summer tyres (my own personal experience being a user on 3 vehicles and having critiqued them for an article) whilst the Conti reportedly still exhibit some of the soft feeling of winter tyres. The conti have a small edge in snow above the Cclimate, but the Cc cut the mustard in a uk winter and are vastly better than summer tyres. Take yer pic based on your preference, driving feel or snow.

Fantastic, thanks again. Cross Climates it is then. I’ll update the community with my thoughts once I have them fitted.

I've just put 4 new Pirelli scorpion Verde all seasons back on mine earlier this year in 107 XL again. Last set gave me nearly 40k miles and were on for 4 years....Excellent tyre.

Just having a quick google search and found a pretty good deal on ATS for 4 Michelin Cross Climate SUV 235 60 18 107 W.
£141.49 each fitted 4 = £565.96 - £52 discount = £513.96 Making them £128.49 each fitted Plus you get a free Amazon Dot (gen 2) worth £89.99 So if you sold the Amazon Dot say for £80 then they would cost £108.49 each fitted!! |
