Good news for me so far. '09 XC70 D5 geartronic with 150k. FVSH to 125k then Volvo independent.
Usual consumables; tyres, brakes, battery and trailing arm bushes at 145k. ATF changed at 130k. Might need a drop link soon and headlights flicker occasionally. Otherwise feels like it will go on forever. Love it!

It's interesting when you ask which parts are Ford or Volvo as motor manufacturers are essentially designers and assemblers. They don't make many parts themselves. The parts are sourced to specification from smaller factories, mainly in Europe, and my original Jaguar windscreen wipers came from Australia! Work out the logic of that!
Many parts will be stamped with dual brands, or just different boxes, and prices. |

My 2008 V70 2.4d manual, has just passed 98,000 miles, nothing has needed replacing (other than tyres, brake pads and a cracked windscreen) no rear bush problems yet, 100% reliable and long term average fuel economy of 45mpg. Only issue I have had was a rattle in the bulkhead that took weeks to track down and turned out to be a broken clip on a pipe that runs across the bulkhead.... most reliable and solid feeling, rattle free car I have ever owned.

Are we giving out prizes? I just clicked over the 600 today. It's a 2009 S80 D5 Geartronic Executive. I bought it in 2014 with 150,000kms on the clock. |

I dread to think how many hours you have to sit in a car to do that sort of mileage!

P3 comes 4th in What Car's older executive car reliability survey. My 2008 (70k) D5 has only had a leaking windscreen, resealed last year at Volvo's expense.
