I have done around 5000miles since buying the V70 and got my repaired cluster back today fitted and working. I have booked car in for exhaust repair its blowing and also got a noise like creaking when turning left and right when the car is parked and lastly suspect one of the engine mounts not right. It goes in a week Friday,

Just an update cat as been welded and is sorted and the creaky bed spring noise turned out to be a dry gearbox mount. I decided to change inner and outer track rod ends and need to sort tracking. I have the feeling this will be a brilliant car in the end time will tell.....

Tracking done for £20 and its driving perfect and air con recharge by ATS for £47 I think a good price. I expected it to have a leak or compressor not working but all is fine.
What a pleasure to drive bring on the warm weather

My v70 is running well now after all the work done and I am waiting for my Bluespark cr2 tuning box to arrive any day. Is it a good idea to use or not? I think its supposed to up power to 188bhp.

hi where did you get tracking done for £20 or was it just a check without any adjustment?

It was done at a garage i've been going to for the last 30 years Star tyres Burnley his dad was a really pleasant guy enjoyed chatting with him years ago. The back seemed to be wearing even so just went for normal tracking. The equipment he used isn't the latest but attaches on the front and back wheels and he talked me through the adjustments. Having new track rods ends it was way out and nearly off the scale and very light on the steering and was adjusted as per manual. I was quoted £85 for hunter 4 wheel alignment at another local garage....

Fitted Bluespark cr2 today and have to say well worth the money I paid. It feels more responsive in any gear more than pleased and no smoke that I can see,Yeah

Just an update and have now clocked up around 11000 miles and the v70 is better than ever. This model must have been one of the best cars made when it came out it 2001 as it is quiet powerful smooth and very comfortable. I am glad I decide to keep it and knowing all the big jobs are done ie clutch, suspension, camshaft and belts, handbrake cable and all brakes sorted and finally front tyres replaced today. What a car

I noticed a noise like a rumbling mainly when turning right or if the camber of the road was a certain way. Mileage now is 169595 and i also noticed a knocking which turned out to be the droplinks. Last job that was annoying me was no wash for the rear wiper. The independent Volvo dealer I used have repaired all the above and done a full service. Its so much quieter now and wish I would have taken it in sooner its now back to riding superb. They did say inter cooler is bowed and there is a small crack in the catalytic converter. I still think it was a great choice of car and love how practical it is.
