Default parking brake

hi all and HELP!! PLEASE

since buying my xc90 d5 2004 auto
the parking brake has never worked from when I bought car a couple of months ago
so today iv,e finally got round to looking at it .
the rear discs were shot so today I have replaced the rear discs & pads along with the handbrake shoes and fitting kit I also installed the manual adjuster upgrade in the hand brake shoes rebuilt everything adjusted as in other posts via the adjusters in backing off centre adjuster next to gear selector adjust rear drums and then centre but still no parking break it feels as if there,s nothing connected to the pedal so any help on what to try next would be good

thanks
peter

Sounds like the cable has detached either from the pedal or at the junction between the front cable and the two rear cables.
