Default Converting from can of gunk to space saver

Although I have only had one puncture requiring roadside attention in half a million miles of driving, and my wife never, I still intend to replace with a space save the compressor and can of gunk (actually the latter is missing anyway) in her 2008 C30 T5 that we have just purchased; the one time one of us gets a puncture in it will probably be a bigger PITA otherwise.

My question is do I only need to buy the tyre (T125/85R16 99M according to the Owner's Manual), wheel, and a retaining lug to replace the one that currently secures the compressor, or is there more to it?

Common sense says "No", but I'll check anyway.

TVM.

Default skinny tyres

Like you the thought of a sticky mess would mean no repair and if stuck on a sunday evening eg with a side wall nipped or big split, you are goosed.

I found a VOLVO space saver in scrap yard, cost me £5 !!

If I'd pushed the boat out I could have got one from a breakers yard ex FORD FOCUS (same size) for £25. but usually they do not list them as no great demand from Focus owners as I think they get wheel as standard.
I just made a samll adabptor from a piece of threaed rod, wing nut and flat bar, not the prettiest but hey -ho its in the bootand does the job!
On a previous car I just drilled a hole thro floor to fix it down (but it was GRP so no odds).

I'd really only fit them to the rear, wear on diff and handling?!?!?!?!

so front puncture means two swaps.

Default oh and a jack!!

You will also need a jack & wheel brace etc

Maybe you are buying new?

If not, again scrap yard?
Try and get a Volvo one that clips on to sill as per 'official' variety.

I have one of the old rumage yourself type yard, where things are sold as seen, usually in multiples of £5! now only in 'stock' for few weeks as cars are dumped so new?

Things are a bit pot luck but it works for odds and ends. nothing newer than 01/51 plate unless they have wrapped around a tree with only TPFT!
