Because of a change in circumstances ie divorce I find myself depleted of funds and custody of 2 young children. ! I have previously owned a couple of XC 90s from new. I am looking for a budget estate 2.5K - 3.5k which is cheap to run but can tow. I like the idea of the XC70 or V70 but I am not sure about running costs, reliability etc. Basically I need a cheap car for 2 - 3 years. I currently drive an old BMW 7 series which is falling apart after 300k miles. Can't complain!!

Your probably better of looking at a phase 2 for the money you suggest.

Unusual for the chap to get the kids, normally the man is the provider, go to werk, have it all taken off you.....
