Default upgrading to 3inch intercooler pipes

Once my 850 T5 comes back from the dead I will be upgrading the intercooler pipe work to 3 inch as I've obtained a 4 inch wide FMIC with 3 inch outlets:

I know i will need an adapter to connect the 3 inch pipe to the top of the turbo then a reducer to connect to the throttle housing so the question is

Do I need to do anything to these adapters to prevent heatsoak or compression as they will be going from 2 1/4 -2 1/2 inch up to 3 inch and down to 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 inch [haven't measured the current bore I know the bore is one of the two measurements]

Default lol

If you've got a 100mm wide intercooler I would worry more about fitting it than putting reducers on! I had to hack a fair bit of metal out to fit my 75mm thick one and that's in a 940 without aircon. I had 76 to 68mm reducers on each end and it works fine.
Do you have aircon? Have you had a go at fitting it yet? What turbo are you planning to run does it have a 3'' outlet?
