Volvo S60 1.6 D2 Clutch
Hello
I’m the owner of a Volvo S60 2014 manual which has done 115000 miles, but is in great shape and has only needed general anticipated repairs in line with mileage/age so far, including cam belt/water pump last year. I’ve noticed however recently it’s a little crunchy selecting gears and given the mileage have an incline that the clutch needs replacing. Given my basic knowledge of mechanics, it’s a garage job and understand based on a couple I’ve spoken to that a dual mass flywheel will need replacing at the same time. One garage quoted £970 for the work. The car is driving well no real additional issues other than the sometimes crunchy gear selection, a short chirp sound from something before setting off and an occasional judder from the engine when turning off the ignition. Could I continue to drive and ‘hope for the best’ or would you recommend getting the clutch DMF sorted at the earliest opportunity? I really hadn’t considered changing the clutch would cost so much, but the car is excellent otherwise and it makes sense to commit to the repair. Thank you guys Chris. |
