Cool Tyre sizes

Good day. I have a 2011 s60 D3 it usually comes out with 235/40/18 but two years ago I put 225/45/18 on for a softer ride. It worked in the sense the ride is not as bumpy. I would like to put on 225 or 235/50/18. Someone told me the tyres may catch when I turn the steering full lock. Have any of you tried a size 50 on a s60 and what was the results?

Check here but a set of 17” rims will allow a higher profile sidewall

The placebo effect is marvellous, given that you originally swapped from one tyre size to another with negligible sidewall height difference but less width, thus less volume slightly...

If you change to a 50% ratio, it will help indeed, but this is a vehicle modification, thus you need to inform insurers or risk policy being voided.
As said, drop rim size instead and use a std oe fitment.
