Amazon Estate (1967) service items - what are they?
Hi,
I know this sounds like a daft question but can anyone supply the part numbers/model types for the distributor cap, rotor, points, plugs and oil & air filter? The reason I'm asking is that I bought the car yesterday, it didn't come with any technical info, it has a misfire(&needs a service anyway), and I'm hoping that my local Halfords mighthave the parts in stock so I can do the job today (Sunday). Many thanks Richard. |

Hi Richard,
I'm afraid that I haven't a clue about the part numbers, but if you haven't already got the parts, I guess that your best bet would be to get them mail-order, from somewhere like: Brookhouse Volvo Parts: http://www.classicvolvoparts.co.uk/ Amazon Cars: http://www.amazoncars.co.uk/ or South Service (Tony Barrett): http://www.amazon.uk.com/ I would also strongly recommend that you use a genuine Volvo oil filter, since they have a non-return valve in them, which reduces the engine wear on start-up. Paul,
Thanks for your help - I ran out of time to make it to Halfords (bet the request would have baffled them anyway!) so will take your advice & go mail order. Best wishes#Richard |
