Default D4 Remap Options

Hi All,

My S60 is going to the main dealers for a service next week and am considering getting it remapped...

Never had a car remapped before so can anyone recommend someone in the Norwich/Norfolk area and I'm not looking to go mad with it so how would the stock engine and auto box cope? It's a 14 plate with 50,000 miles on it

I think the only choice you will be offered is a Polestar re-map

I’ve had my d3 s60 remapped are tms coventry volvo, it’s a 2012 model which was the same engine as the d4 with a different map, it was a rica remap which was compliant with volvo’s warranty and basically just ended up with a remapped d4 engine.

Not sure whether yours will be the newer 4cyl or the 5cly like mine though

Look into rica chip tuning and they’ll give you a list of volvo dealers that will do the work, not the cheapest but less than polestar and still dealer compliant

Rica won't be warranty compliant ... and possibly can be overwritten with a volvo ecu update you need to check this out ...

I’ve had my map sensor go whilst under warranty after the rica map, they were quite happy to claim this under warranty and was nothing to do with the remap

Plus your car is well out of warranty now anyway so it’s not like you can claim for any fault, I’ve had my remap for 5 years now and in that time nothing else has ever gone wrong

With the Rica's iSofloader you can reprogram any model Volvo and engine up to and including MY18. So if the software is overwritten at the service, it can easily be reprogrammed in 5 min. with the Rica tune.

Edit: Just to add, that whoever decides to do Rica tuning, don't need to go to any Rica dealer. The tuning can be done at home with the iSofloader via the OBDII . You just need a computer (or laptop) and follow the instructions.
