Default Buying a S/V40

I'm thinking of buying either an S40 or a V40 (either an 1800 or 2000, maybe with automatic gearbox). Having read the comments in the latest Driver (about rattling trim, gearbox noise etc) I wondered what the owners of these cars thought. Are the latest versions much better than the phase 2's?

Any helpful comments gratefully received.

Default RE: Buying a S/V40

I have just brought S40 1.8i Manual V reg. I am very pleased with the car, road holding, ride very good, fuel economy good. No rattles etc. can't fault vehicle very pleased. Only one problem i can see on my year of car seems to be a difference in height of rear suspension n/s o/s which i am checking with Volvo at present.

Ian..
