Default V40 -Just had a new battery fitted.

Hi I have a 98 V40 CD.Just had a new battery fitted by local garage (not Volvo). When I lock the car using key fob the indicators now flash continously, they dont stop untill I unlock the car(using the fob)I can now only lock the car with the key as this doesnt cause the indicators to go off.Local garage havnt a clue.Is there a sequence of reprogramming the alarm system or is this a main dealer job(gulp!)The car runs fine by the way but when your use to locking the thing on the fob its a tad annoying.

There should be no software tie-up with your car. Take it back top the garage who fitted your battery and explain the situation to them, suggesting that as it has appeared to go wrong since they fitted a new battery could they have it sorted pronto, please.

All the best, Peter.
