Exclamation 2008 v50 d5 boost sensor location?

Hi all,

First post

I'm trying to locate the boost sensor to allow the fitment of a dual channel tuning box. Can I get to it without removing various items first? I'm also not too sure where to find it so any photos of the sensor and it's location would be very helpful and much appreciated.

Thanks

if D5 routing is similar to T5 (and I have reasons to believe so) the BPS will be on a lower knee attached to intercooler. In my case, driver side, accessible trough foglamp cover but on FL model it may be more difficult to access, from what I heard.

Hi,

Thanks for responding. I'm still struggling... I took the air box out and a few other bits and bobs to try and get a look at it from above but nothing obvious. Could it be on the inlet manifold somewhere? I don't fancy rooting about underneath and still not getting anywhere.

All my Google searching has drawn a blank as far as an exact location is concerned for the face lift V50 D5.

Popped the bumper off and there it was on the intercooler.

Problem solved.

Sadly I'm quite disappointed by it and the car in general. I picked the car up cheaply as a commuter car.

It's had a full service, belts changed and a new clutch since I bought it a few months ago, I knew all that needed doing prior to purchase. There are no creaks, squeaks or error codes and the car runs ok...it's just not very good.

I fitted the dual channel tdi-tuning box in an effort to make it feel a bit more lively but I didn't notice too much of a difference. Perhaps its a bit noisier and there's a tad more torque.

This is no doubt the wrong place to be bashing a Volvo but I find the V50 D5 manual to be thirsty, noisy and quite reluctant to get up and go. Even the standard headline power and torque figures just don't seem to translate when driving the car, it is really not what I was expecting.

By way of a comparison, I have a Mk3 Octavia VRS diesel estate with similar power and torque also with a tuning box fitted and that's a flying machine in comparison. I know it's perhaps not a fair comparison because engines have clearly come a long way in the 5 years between these cars.
