  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Ascona=Cavalier Mk1[essentially same car]

Commodore=Viceroy

Senator A=Royale[saloon]

Manta B=Sportshatch

Monza=Royale[coupe]

Others may know of more.

These are later cars than the ones I posted - when the products were essentially different.

Owned mk1 cavalier, manta 1.9sr berlinetta, 66 viscount, various Carlton and senators and a brace of more modern cavaliers and calibra. Used to be partial to an old Vauxhall . Had a lovely weekend low mileage kadett rwd too.

Despite all the Vauxhall talk I only ever had two, both company cars and separated by quite a few years, a Senator 3.0 and a Signum 3.0 CDTi.

I really rated the senators, oh, has two v6 omega 2.5 manuals too, lovely comfy old buses with surprisingly able chassis

I may be going mad but I’m sure the volvos when I was a kid in the 70’s had stickers about being British car ( because of the amount of bits imported from the uk)

Land Rover?

I can't believe that they haven't been mentioned before now as either British, or not British (because they're Indian-owned).

I can tell you that most of their vehicles are British-designed and British-made and that they have British engines made in a British factory.

And if someone offered me an F-Pace or Velar or XF Sportbrake I wouldn't turn them down.

Some believe JLRs cars can no longer qualify as British because of the Indian ownership, and also because in the near future many will be assembled overseas as the Discovery will soon be.
