Default Just for your info: Absolutely *MINT* 240 Estate on Ebay

Hi to all,

Just to say that there is currently an absolute *minter* of a 240 Estate for sale on Ebay at the moment.

See here:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volvo-240-GL-e...c#ht_500wt_975

... and no, I'm not the seller... but it's close by me so I've seen her in the flesh...!

Gorgeous, genuine 1 lady owner and only 75K on the clock!

If only I had the space and less Volvo's already I'd be in the bidding, but my Mrs. would unfortunately KILL me!!...

Hopefully it will go to a good home!

Regards,
Moz.

rusty arches, missing rear headrests, faded mirrors and trim, grey trim coming away form arch, burn in passenger seat, rusty bottom right tailgate, kerbed alloy wheels,

no way is that mint!!! could be described as very good for a 240 but definately not mint!!

LOL - I like the "love is blind" comment! )

Okay, maybe "minter" needed some context adding.. I was meaning in terms of those who might be seeking a candidate worthy of bringing back to full pristine condition...

Don't forget, I've *seen* this car in the flesh. I've also seen quite a few 240's in my time - one bought via this very forum I might add.

Admittedly the photo's don't do it justice, but come on... The seller is definitely no enthusiast, however the car is a very genuine low mileage 1-owner example that has been pretty well cared for.

The few rust spots are in the places where ALL 240's go... but in this case, it's the least amount I have ever seen on a pre-restored example! Just superficial paint bubbling which has been removed and oxided - though badly I will grant you!!
You definitely could not call the rear arches "knackered".
You'd have to *see* the chrome parts to realise how good they are - no clouding/stippling/back-to-grey-plastic (eyebrows!) etc. like you normally see.
The engine bay looks like new.
And the rear headrests are there too, don't know where they went in his photo's!
There is no burn on any of the seats that I saw and I can't see any in the photo.. (surely you don't mean the shadows in the photo, or maybe the "pile" in the seat fabric - which is still like new!?)
The whole inside is very good indeed (I dare not use the term immaculate now, or someone might come back posting about the footwell carpets having dared to be trodden upon sometime in the last 20 years!)

As for faded trims and kerbed alloys... well... maybe you're right, two quid in Halfords for some "Back to Black" and a bit of elbow spent on the wheels - Yes, your right, that DOES put me off the whole vehicle!! Jeez!

Anyway, was just my 2p.

I can house 8 cars off-road at a push on my driveway. I only have 4 but my wife's putting her foot down this time!! Unfortunately!!!

All the best,
Moz.

But isn't it also true that some mints have holes in them, so the desription could be construed as accurate?
