S60 Misfire
I took my 2003 s60 t5 for its MOT on the 12th September and it passed its emissions etc no problems (the readings excellent). The day after I was driving it at speed on the motorway and the Engine management light started flashing, it went off after 15 seconds, then on my return home as I accelerated foot flat down, the engine management light came on again, and power seem to lag. I took it straight to a garage as the light remained on this time, the faults came back on the computer as a catalytic converter fault and a misfire on cylinder 2.
The chap at the garage said that it would be the cat, but would that cause a misfire? Which is cylinder two as you look into the engine bay from the front? All help would be appreciated in order to get my T5 firing on all cylinders again. |

Might want to post this in the S60 section....
However, having recently had similar problems with a 4 cylinder engine, the things to check are obviously plugs, leads and coil pack. None of these helped with mine though, as it turned out to be a very buggered (and expensive) exhaust valve which had started to disintegrate... Good luck! Paul |
