Default Volvo V70-Bi-Fuel

I have a 2002 V70 bi-fuel fitted with a necam koltec system. I bought the car 18 months ago, both petrol and lpg sides were serviced. After several months the car cut out whilst on lpg, this continued every 2-4 weeks. I took the car to Volvo(warrington) they did a systems upgrade, but discovered no fault codes. I had the lpg serviced again at my local specialist, both filters being replaced with Volvo parts, ran well for 3-4 weeks then cut out again and continued every 2-4 weeks, generally on the overun. Took to another specialist who diagnosed/replaced gas distributer.car ran ok again for 3 weeks then cut out again. The car then started to cut out more often,1-2 a week, sometimes when stopping or accelerating or moving off, no pattern really.Took to another specialist who replaced vapourisor and front solenoid.
The car continues to cut out now as much as 3 times a day. often you can start and switch to gas ok, run for a mile then cuts out, will not re-start on gas, you have to start on petrol and continue to run on it for some time, you can then stop and it will restart on lpg, if you then travel a while and then stop for fuel or tea break it will not restart on lpg and you have to go through the same routine again.
The lpg places are at a loss and volvo do not seem to have much more of an idea re-lpg, not sure whats going on or what to do with it, anyone any clues as to possible fault or as to where i should try next, would volvo be any use? running out of ideas and patience with it!!!!!!

Default V70 lpg

Hi

Talk to John at Autogas, Thirsk. 01845 524213
Also see the various threads on the FF Volvo systems on this forum. They do require TLC at various points, but having done 60,000m in 2 of them they are still the best kept secret on the roads

Autogas 2000 at Thirsk are the dogs wotsits when it comes to LPG - as in the very best in the business!

They converted my V70 and I can honestly say it's been they best £1800 I ever spent on any car or car-related thing.

If death and taxes are the only certain things in life, the next most certain thing is that my next Volvo will be LPG'd by John at Autogas 2000!

Hi there, I have the same issue, did you ever get to the bottom of your problem in the end?
Thanks,
H
