Waiting times, XC60 - Page 4

Hello, I ordered a new XC60 momentum in January 2018 with an expected delivery the end of March, however despite being given a Reg number and being told that the car is here in the UK, the supplying dealer are not able to confirm when the car will arrive with them.
I contacted Volvo Cars UK yesterday and they couldn't advise either and neither will they tell me what the actual problem is!

This is very frustrating but what can you do!

I looked at the Audi Q5 and Discovery ( having owned 2 x freelanders previously) and the Volvo is by far the stand out vehicle!

I just hope I get it before I have to hand back my Mercedes C class next month!

Is anyone else having the same issues?

If your car has been registered and given a reg number and is in the UK you should be able to count in days rather than weeks or months when it will arrive at your dealer. I had this vague claim they didn’t know and was told that they needed to fill a transporter at the port before they set off for their rounds delivering to various dealers.

To me this seemed like a dealer who didn’t sell enough but it was with them a week or so later.

Being given a reg number may not be the same as a registered car, dealers get a block of numbers to use on their sales.

Many thanks, the car is going to be registered by Volvo as this is a personal contract hire deal.

I received my Reg and Vin numbers two days ago. Pick my car up next Saturday although it's due in to the dealer on Monday. Mine is also PCH. Had to fill in a couple of forms to send back before delivery can be authorised. Be sure to send both Volvo copy and Executable copy of the same form back (I didn't)

Pretty much the same story for me now but I will get mine a week on Monday.

Know what you mean about the PCH forms - fairly confusing !

Many thanks for this, the supplying dealer has issued paperwork but hasn't pushed me to sign or pay the initial rental/deposit.

Not sure if you both have done this but I will be taking out a GAP policy which can cover your initial rental amount as well. You can buy this online but it needs to be purchased fairly soon after the car has been registered.

I have a year remaining on my ALA gap policy which they have confirmed I can transfer to the new vehicle.

Re the initial payment, the finance provider will apparently take that in full a week or two after you’ve collected the vehicle. In my case I paid the dealer £1000 when I ordered which they are going to refund me

Just been advised that my XC60 , which was due to the dealer today/tomorrow may be delayed. They haven't received the 48 hr notification email so not sure when it will arrive. It was at Gothenburg harbour last week. Anyone else heard anything re deliveries this week ? I have a hire car booked from Wednesday as mine goes back. Hope this gets resolved quickly

I have been told by 2 independent Volvo dealers that cars have been delayed by 3-4 weeks at the docks in Gothenburg due to a strike but that volvo are working on clearing the backlog.

By the time I take delivery of mine it will be about a month after the date it was built.
