Default Starting problem need help please 2010 v70 d3

Hello I need some help please with a constant problem I keep getting and I just can’t get to the bottom of it.
I have a 2010 v70 d3 auto when it’s running the car is fine but it has left me stranded 4 times now in 10 months and the rac have had to tow me home.
It was narrowed down by the rac guy as a crankshaft sensor so I fitted a new one and the car fired up.i let it run for 20 mins then turned it off and tried again and surprise surprise the car refused to start again.
The car will start up again once it has been sitting a few hours.
Has anybody had this problem as I just want to get to the cause of it so I can get it fixed.
Thankyou
Steve

When it cuts out, what do the electronics do? Are they still working normally?
Has anyone checked the fuel system?

Hi and thanks for reply. The first time this happened the first rac guy said you have no fuel pressure in the fuel rail. He took the plastic clip off the high pressure pump and we cranked the engine but no fuel came through.his thoughts were the inpump tank has failed. Anyway the next day I tried to start the car and it fired up,it has ran fine for 2 months but last Sunday it would not start at the supermarket so I rang up the rac guy he plugged the reader in and he said I’ve got no signal at the crank sensor.he towed me home and I fitted a new crank sensor it fired up but would not start again after 20 mins or so.
Oh and all electrics look fine except one headlight bulb which started to flicker

It has just done the exact same thing.
Car has just started up straight away I left it running 10 mins turned it off tried again and it won’t start again.
This car is really testing my patience
The bulb has now given up the ghost as now I’ve got a warning sayin dipped beam failure, the bulb must have been on its way out

I think you might need someone nearby with Vida or a garage with diagnostics to measure the sensor readings of the fuel and other systems realtime when it's running and when it dies.
Sounds like it's running out of fuel, but it could be something else.

Usually you can find a member with Vida somewhere nearby, perhaps offer them some cups of tea for their time.
