Default Brake Control Module failure - warranty ?

Hi
After getting several dash warning lights come on at once whilst driving I took my 2015 XC60 D5 to my usual Volvo dealer.
Diagnostics show a failed Brake Control Module as the cause.
Quoted £1100 for part plus 3 hrs labour plus diagnostic charge, so with vat close around £1900 total.

Car is 4 years old, 40k miles and fully dealer serviced.

I've asked dealer to pursue claim with Volvo although car is out of warranty. Has anyone on this forum has had success doing this before please?

Any info welcome - would be handy to know before getting Volvo's response.
Surely parts like this should last longer than 4 years.

Thanks in advance

Not sure about the answer to your question.
But what happens if you do pay the money and it doesn't fix the problem. There have been quite a few on here with electrical problems and the dealer has changed units and charged and the fault is still there. I suppose what i am saying is how good is the diagnostics at the dealer and what happens if the new module fails to fix the problem?
The cars can sometimes throw faults on one unit, caused by another. Alternator issues cause many fault lights to light as well as Can bus issues.

Volvo will probably offer a contribution towards the cost; please let us know Volvo's response.

Potential costs such as this are why I wouldn't run a complex car without some form of warranty.

Thanks for replies. I'm certainly hoping for a contribution and will let you know.
I assume the repair and part will come with some warranty period - maybe 12 months, I'll check that when I pick it up too.
Sounds like it could be fixed tomorrow.

Evening.
You will get a lot more responses by posting here https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=187 that is the forum sub-section applicable to your model year.
Having owned a similar model to yours in the post I have never heard of this module failing, so you have a rare instance.
