Default V70 contactless ets faults

Hi
2000 Volvo V70 2.4
Has anybody experienced any faults with the contactless ets replacements?
The reason I ask is because I replaced my failed ets with a sacer one about 3yrs ago.
Everthing has been fine until suddenly without warning the ets light came on and the car went into limp mode. The car was also hunting badly.
Could it be that the replacement ets has failed?

There are 3 main components to the ETM, the position sensors, the circuit board and the throttle motor. Although the position sensor is often at fault the other parts can also fail.
I suggest you read this and some of the other threads in the ETM section https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=299426
