No I have'nt yet. As the part was only one day away at time of posting, I decided to wait.
I have also posted on the 480 Europe forum. A reply there was to unplug the MAF sensor & if it runs it will mean I have an air leak somewhere. I'm off to try both of these suggestions after breakie & will update later. Thanks.

Ticking over Now
Right I've just unplugged the MAF sensors leccy connection, fired it up & it is ticking over like a sweet thing.
Just need to find the air leak now! Thanks.

Found The Air Leak!
After much hunting around, I found that the pipe from the rear of the MAF sensor to the Turbo unit has completely split around its circumference where it attaches to (Ithink) the turbo unit. The jubilee clip was still firmly in place with about 1cm of the pipe, but the pipe itself was completely away. This must be causing a tad of air leakage LOL!
Anyway I've tried to refit as a temp' fix but have had no joy. The remains are just to short. Have also noticed that the section from the MAF down is on its way out as well. So reckon I shall have to replace that as well. I've never taken so many bits off of an engine before, just hope I can get it all back together correctly! Thanks for all the advice.

My plan for a temp' fix.
Apparently, these pipes work out at around £10 per inch from Volvo!
With that in mind I am now going for the scrappy option............ unless anyone has any on a shelf somewhere. In the meantime I'm in the process of making a temp' repair. Using BARDAHL mastic, which stays flexible from -60 - + 240 C I've stuck the bit of the pipe that came away back on. I will let that 'go off' overnight. Then I'm going to bind the join with some Duct-Tape type stuff I've found over here. This tape is (suposedly) good for pressures upto 4 Bar (60psi?). Once I've got this far I'll refit the hose with the jubillee clip going over the tape. No tape should touch the block so no worry with heat onto the tape. Then all I have to do is refit all the pipes I took off to get to the broken one.... oh & of course, hope it solves the problem! This should 'buy' me some time to source a decent hose from a yard somewhere.

Right Now I am Stuck!
I've repaired my split pipe. Now the car will not run at all. Spins on the starter but refuses to fire.
I've tried disconnecting the MAF sensor & still it will not start, so assume that I have fixed the air leak side of things. Have tried adjusting the air mix screw on the throttle body, still no joy. Have checked & double checked & cannot find anything that I've missed when replacing all the pipes. Can anyone suggest where to try next plaese.

In all your efforts you have disconnected the high voltage cables from the distributor. Have you put them back in the correct position?

Huge Grin time!
Right, Nano, you were not a million miles away. I found that the HT from Coil to Dizzy had all but corroded through, snapped when I hardly touched it! I had a spare & fitted it, still no start.
Then checked to Multi-plug connection on the coil - it was loose- must have knocked it whilst re-moving/ replacing all the pipes. Tightened it up & bingo! Now running very smoothly, turbo boosting to mid-yellow, idle -spot-on!
