I had a problem with the fuel pump ages ago and the best way to check if the injectors are getting enough fuel is by checking the fuel pressure. Mine ran fine on idle but couldn't get full throttle. Best way to check is to get the engine running while having the manometer on it. Also check the pipe on the fuel pressure regulator. The diagram shows what resistance you should be getting at the injectors.

ive tried the ecu reset, yes!!! the engine box and everything else came out of a 1990 440 .. once it starts it runs and drives fine but will stop for no reason then not go again!!! i have a second hand ecu on the way so we'll see if that sorts it!
this car was straight, believe it or not.... but it kind of fell off the pile, quite a high one!! |

I've fitted second hand ecu and were away again. Put the old ecu back on it ran for a few seconds then stopped. So for whatever reason the old ecu was not firing the injectors.

Glad you solved it , ECU's rarely fail, i always maintain an ECU replacement as a very last resort solution

I dunno I think it uses more fuel than the ram.... I must admit after twenty years in the motor trade I've never replaced an ecu before!! Plenty of air bag ones though. I spoke to several people the cheapest quote I had just to look at the ecu was more than I paid for the secondhand one. Anyway I'm going to have the van put on rolling road soon to see how much power it's making.
