Default 1990 440 turdo HELP!!!!

greetings all, i have a problem with my 440 turdo, ill try and make a long story short.. car driving fine.. suddenly stalls and will not start again, luckily just outside my house... will not start.. left it a couple of days then started, ran five mins, stopped... nothing again... left overnight... started drove twenty miles... fine... stopped it... wouldnt start again... left overnight off we go again... anyway drove 15 miles, stopped. went back to it a while later... nothing and now it still wont start... so far ive changed crank sensor, ignition module, fuel filter, spark plugs and cleaned filter in tank .. found some air leaks between maf and turbo.. has a good spark, have by passed fuel relay and still it wont start. as far as i can figure the injectors are not firing, so its either wiring or ecu??! has anyone experience of this or know how i can test the injector wiring ( what sort of voltage to expect etc )

im really swaying toward ecu, as when it starts its fine..but cant find one anywhere. if anyone has one, id be interested.. its orange labelled one ( metal ) and has 0280 000 577 on it...

thanks

Is your 440 turbo engine in a renault van by any chance ? And do you have a silver Dodge ram too?

No, these engines don't have a cam position sensor. Did you check for any fault codes beforehand? Is the fuel pump working properly (max. pressure 3.5bar, rest pressure between 3.3-3.4 bar). The fuel pump starts working when the engine is cranked.

Some info on the injectors. You mentioned that it sparks properly so it seems that there might be something wrong on the fuel side. (On the turbos i think the diagnostic fault code checking is different compared to the other types...) What is the engine temp gauge showing? Is the pipe going to the MAF not pinched or broken etc?

The turbo's don't have the possibility to read out fuel-and management related faultcodes. That's because the turbo's have a Bosch ECU. Only the n/a engines with the Siemens fenix ECU can.

I'm still thinking ecu , if the fuel pump is bypassed, running and there is a spark it should go shouldn't it ??? Far short of taking the injectors out I can't think how to test them !!

It's fairly fast!! But it's going bloody nowhere ATM. I can't find a secondhand ecu anywhere !!
